Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment in Canvas. When students use LockDown Browser to access a quiz, they are unable to print, copy, visit other websites, access other applications, or close a quiz until it is submitted for grading.

Respondus Monitor is a video monitoring service that works in conjunction with the Respondus LockDown Browser for exams delivered via Canvas. It serves as a deterrent to students using secondary computers, phones, calculators, textbooks, or receiving assistance from other students.

Piazza is a discussion forum, question-and-answer tool designed to connect students, TAs, and professors.

Status:

The Ex Libris Group produces a suite of library management tools. The UC Davis Library manages Ex Libris on campus and acquired the Leganto LTI tool to make a connection between Canvas and Ex Libris for creating course reserve lists. The tool is titled, "Reading List," and can be found in the Course Navigation for every course. Instructors are able to create, edit and submit booklists for their courses from within Canvas. Students will be able to see specific information about reserved texts such as call number and availability.

Kaltura is a video repository for unlimited audio and video files. The uploaded content can be viewed and shared through AggieVideo (video.ucdavis.edu) and the Canvas Media Gallery. You can also embed all Kaltura media directly into your Canvas course through the Canvas rich content editor (RCE).

Box allows you to share files, and to create, edit and review documents online with others in real-time. In Canvas, Box is available in the Assignment tool, in Modules, and in the text editor. It can also be added to the course navigation menu by following the Installation Instructions below.
