UCSD Intermediate Microeconomics Handbook

The Intermediate Microeconomics Video Handbook (IMVH) is a comprehensive set of course materials that can be utilized in a variety of ways by instructors and students in intermediate microeconomics courses and numerous undergraduate electives. The IMVH includes over two hundred short, semi-independent video lectures covering all of the essential topics in intermediate microeconomics.

Turnitin is an originality checking and plagiarism prevention service that checks student writing for citation mistakes or inappropriate copying. Once a paper is submitted, the service checks it against a large database of papers to provide an similarity report to instructors. It can also improve student writing with instant feedback as they revise.

Top Hat

Top Hat is a classroom engagement tool that makes lectures more interactive, providing the instructor with immediate feedback on student understanding. It is similar to other classroom response systems (AKA clickers) with enhanced content options.

Respondus - Lockdown Browser + Monitor

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment in Canvas. When students use LockDown Browser to access a quiz, they are unable to print, copy, visit other websites, access other applications, or close a quiz until it is submitted for grading.

Respondus Monitor is a video monitoring service that works in conjunction with the Respondus LockDown Browser for exams delivered via Canvas. It serves as a deterrent to students using secondary computers, phones, calculators, textbooks, or receiving assistance from other students.

Quizlet

Quizlet is a learning tool that helps students create their own flashcards or choose from flashcards created by other users on many different subjects. In addition, instructors can create a set of flashcards just for their course.

 

Quizlet is installed and available as an assignment submission type of external tool, or as a module external tool, or using the external tool link buttons of the text editor that appears in several places in canvas.
