ALEKS (Assessment and LEarning in Knowledge Spaces) is a Web-based, artificial intelligence assessment and adaptive learning system that determines each student’s progression in a course. As students work through a course, ALEKS periodically reassesses each student's knowledge to determine if previously studied topics were retained; it then guides the student to review material or to advance, as determined by each reassessment. ALEKS is used with higher education courses in the areas of math, science, business, and behavioral science.
